I apply my experience and abilities as an architect to help project teams in all our regions and our design partners apply our quality control processes as early as possible in the life of a project. I work with our preconstruction staff and project managers and use virtual design and construction (VDC) tools along with traditional review processes to connect and communicate concepts of design intent and constructibility clearly and effectively among all project stakeholders. I focus particularly on projects where we are involved during the design process, such as in design-build, design-assist, and integrated project delivery methods.

Galilee is a Christian not-for-profit organization working toward restoration of individuals, couples, and families out of at-risk or challenging situations. I assisted Galilee by focusing on community development projects that create meaningful and sustainable job opportunities for young adults from at-risk families or with special needs. I put my love for families like mine into action while also employing my knowledge of project development and design and my connections in higher education. I am able to work on projects directly as well as with volunteer and student groups.

Designed, developed and implemented a system to track unit cost and productivity data for every part of every project, and to generate real, historical cost averages. Now working on the continual process of utilizing this data for cost estimating, risk management, scheduling and project pursuit.

Lead the effort to coordinate digital constructability models between design team and subcontractors. Provide information-rich project models for client use in facility management. Strategize the incorporation of building information modeling (BIM) into firm practices to accomplish better, leaner construction processes. Create a database and standardized format for collecting and archiving historic unit prices for all parts of a building project, and institute this practice on all jobs.

Co-founder of an architecture practice and building company (the architecture practice was previously called "Place Design Studio"), engaging in truly integrated practice. Because we built much of what we designed, we were keenly in touch with how our design decisions impacted the bottom line of our projects.

Project Architect on several key projects, including the Kia Motors Training Facility in West Point, Georgia, the Riverfront Office Development in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and several for the Children's Hospital of Alabama.

Completed my architectural internship, learning about all aspects of the design project process, participating and providing leadership on such key projects as Wylam Elementary School in Birmingham, Alabama; the Macon County Health Clinic in Tuskegee, Alabama; Redstone Village senior living community in Huntsville, Alabama, and the United States Courthouse in Mobile, Alabama (with Moshe Safdie & Associates).
