I am a Partner at Overholt Law LLP with over 10 years of practice experience in our firm's core areas of labour relations law, employment law, civil litigation, privacy law, and human rights law. I enjoy advising employers and employees on workplace issues with an emphasis on taking proactive steps to avoid problems from arising wherever possible. I have been fortunate to experience a wide breadth of legal practice and procedure over the years on behalf of a wide variety of deserving clients. I have represented clients in court, at mediation, and at arbitration in a variety of forums including BC Provincial Court, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeal; the BC Labour Relations Board; the BC Human Rights Tribunal; the BC College of Nurses and Midwives; the Social Security Tribunal (General and Appeal Divisions), and more. I began my legal career downtown Vancouver in 2009, first at a large regional firm and then at a boutique class action and aviation litigation firm. Following that experience, I joined our firm's predecessor - Overholt Law - in January 2013, where I remain to date. In recent years I developed a growing practice advising and representing professionals in disciplinary proceedings before their associations and regulatory bodies. In addition to advocacy work, I assist clients with workplace investigations, drafting employment contracts and policies, and advising on the enforceability of restrictive covenants, among other matters.Finally, I am also a person. Away from the office I have a background as a professional figure skating coach and am an avid film buff. I enjoy the arts, charities, and volunteer my heart out with various worthwhile causes.
