Planned and oversaw the implementation of a 10-million-dollar Capital Improvement Plan including the construction of a trail system with over 25 miles of multi-modal trails, a disk golf course, a dog park, multiple playgrounds, and a 4-million-dollar amphitheater with an attendance capacity of 7,500. Direct and oversee the planning and coordination of year-round programs and special events with more than 150,000 annual attendees. Direct year-round maintenance and programming of the City’s parks and public greenspaces encompassing over 160 acres. Direct the operation of recreation facilities including; a full-service community center, amphitheater and a senior center with over 700 active members. Coordinate comprehensive year-round public relations and marketing efforts including: department web sites (woodstockparksandrec.com and woodstockconcertseries.com) and a comprehensive social media presence. Conduct the ongoing evaluation and analysis of parks and recreation programs and services. Coordinate and actively pursue the acquisition of additional funding sources to include grant writing, public/private partnerships and an extremely successful year-round sponsorship program. Initiated and guided the department through the NRPA/CAPRA Accreditation process with successful agency accreditation received on October 7, 2013 and re-accreditation in 2018.

Orange Beach, Alabama

Successfully directed the department to become the first NRPA / CAPRA Accredited agency in the State of Alabama. Directed the efforts of 55 full time staff, plus a large seasonal workforce. Coordinated and oversaw the construction of a comprehensive multi-year 25-million-dollar Capital Improvement Plan.

Directed a park and recreation department with over 40 full-time and 20 part-time employees plus a large seasonal staff. Oversaw the operation and maintenance of fourteen (14) public parks including a 150-acre regional sports complex with (6) lighted soccer fields, (6) lighted softball and baseball fields, tennis center, a two-mile interpretive nature trail system. Directed the operation of three (3) aquatic centers including two (2) outdoor facilities and a 30,000-square foot (indoor 50 meter) Olympic sized natatorium/family aquatics center.

Directed all functions of a full service Leisure Services Department. Designed, planed and coordinated the construction and maintenance of a variety of parks and recreation facilities; Directed the efforts of over 30 full-time and part-time employees.
