As the Director of Software Development and reporting directly to the CEO, I was responsible for all software systems and solutions, both packaged and custom developed. Responsibilities & Achievements• Fostered the creation of an offshore Korea development team, leveraging existing resources for a global support team and increased cost savings. • Negotiated vendor and consulting contracts to meet budgetary needs while remaining aligned to business requirements and deliverables.• Led the creation of the 5 year technology roadmap to transition from a full vendor supported model to an in house software development team designed to support the future growth of the business. • Regularly provided technology updates to the executive team and board members during quarterly meetings. • Championed a cloud architecture strategy based on Microsoft Azure and leveraging services such as: Redis Cache, Azure DocumentDb, Cloud services, Web apps, as well as other IaaS and SaaS technologies.• Spearheaded the mobile initiative at GP based on a hybrid Cordova/PhoneGap platform leveraging the Ionic framework and AngularJs. • Implemented a continuous delivery software model based on Team City and Octopus Deploy to improve team efficiency and quality.• Standardized the automated testing requirements of the SDLC leveraging Jasmine, Karma, PhantomJs, MSTest and Gulp.• Developed the enterprise RESTful API using ASP.NET WebApi 2, Swagger and Oauth2.0 for security. The API utilized the OWIN standards and Kantana components for self-hosting and easy deployment to the cloud.
