    The aim of Anglo American after its recent acquisition of De Beers was to enable integration between Anglo American’s global Master Data Management (MDM) application and Contract Management Solution (CMS) to several De Beers SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems across Southern African and Northern America (Canada). The objective of this project was to implement supply chain related master/contract data between the Global Anglo American MDM system/Contract Management system (Emptoris) and several De Beers Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.As part of the integration team manager, I was responsible for:Detailed integration functional design deliverables between MDM, CMS, & various SAP systems via webMethods; Conducted/participated in assembly, integration and UAT testing between these applications; Performing checks and validations on data to ensure data integrity; Monitoring, error handling and recovery; Facilitated the deployment/cutover of the various data interfaces i.e. materials, services, suppliers and contracts to the production environment within webMethods; Participated in end to end connectivity testing within the production environments prior to go-live; and Sign-offs for design, testing/cutover deliverables from the MDM, CMS and ERPs project teams.

The 1SAP project is being implemented to make a significant contribution through establishing common, simple, effective and standard core business processes and common metrics across the company. Achieving this will have a direct impact through improved process effectiveness and performance transparency which can only be achieved when common processes and metrics are used. As the Cutover Lead, I’m primarily responsible to support the preparation and delivery of cutover initiatives encompassing business continuity plans, cutover detail plans (system and business), and managing the cutover within the Manganese South African team.Other responsibilities:- Define the work plan, schedule, budget, and required personnel for 1SAP cutover activities;- Ensure networks, communications, desktop environment etc. are of suitable standard to enable a Go-Live initiative as per 1SAP Deployment Methodology;- Manage quality, issues and risks associated with the implementation of cutover initiatives;- Coordinate scope and status reporting for all Cutover Support initiatives for deployment;- Prepare and manage plans to support team members through the Go-Live transition period;- Input into Lessons Learned process by reviewing the effectiveness of Cutover Support initiatives implemented;- Proactively manage project risks; - Provide regular status reporting as required; and- Collaborate with all project teams to ensure alignment between all deployment-related activities.

The phases of the project consisted of Analysis, Design, Build, Test, Service Introduction and Deployment.Within the Quadrem Acknowledgement project, I was responsible for: - Analysing and designing the logging and tracking of procure-to-pay messages sent and received between SAP ERP and Quadrem global messaging platform;- Managing the development team who developed the receiving and processing of these Technical Message Acknowledgments from Quadrem, for the purpose of correlation them back to the original message sent and updating with the processing status returned from Quadrem. As well as log inbound Quadrem messages to SAP ERP; and- Providing Anglo with central visibility of both inbound and outbound messages.Within the EnablOn Enablement project, I was responsible for: - Integrating a hosted third party application (EnablOn) and the data warehouse using the webMethods integration platform;- Extract data from this third party application in an automated fashion and populating the extracted data into the data warehouse landing area; and - This data was ultimately used by the mining/engineering/medical business users.

As a Data Conversion Lead I was primarily responsible for the planning, development and completion of data thread initiatives.Key Tasks involved: - Liaising with all Process Team Leads from CSG Implementation Team (CIT) and the Data Conversion Lead from 1SAP Global Core Team to manage data cleansing, data mapping, data extraction, data testing and data reconciliation and validation initiatives.Specific - Analyse high level CIT data readiness and plan data cleansing activities;- Manage the progress of CIT data cleansing activities;- Coordinate and manage the development of data transformation rules;- Coordinate and manage the scope review and the generation of the CIT data conversion requirements;- Support the quality review of data conversion standards and approach;- Manage end to end data conversions and data validation test;- Provide key input to detailed cutover conversion plan to Cutover Lead;- Coordinate and communicate with the 1SAP Global Core Team-Data Conversion Lead; and- Manage remaining conversion tasks and objects to be loaded post Go-Live.

The project centers on integrating a Master Data Management System (SAP MDM) and a hosted Contracts Management Solution (CMS) to 15+ ERP Systems (SAP & Ellipse) via SAP PI which are geographically distributed around the globe (Africa, Europe, LATAM and Australia). These business units are running SAP R3, SAP ECC6 and Ellipse ERP systems. The various business units are Platinum, Thermal Coal South Africa, Kumba Iron Ore, Metallurgical Coal Australia, Copper Chile, Nickel Brazil and Iron Ore Brazil. As part of the integration team, I was responsible for understanding and documenting the AS-IS data/integration landscape for the business units in the Anglo American infrastructure. Once documented, it provided the team with the basis for the TO-BE data/integration landscape to be completed. As functional owner in the back office team, I was responsible for:Receiving, transfer, item tracking register and inventory enquiry functions; Resolving design issues within these areas with business and development teams; Took ownership of the Unpacking functional area from a team member who left the project; Reports design: Designed reports for each of the functional areas mentioned and worked with the business to ensure the report layouts and data definitions were correct; Interface design: Worked with peer systems and the interface development team to produce interface designs for both inbound and outbound interfaces. Produced designs for file based and table based interfaces; Test planning and Testing: Produced test documentation which included scenarios, scripts and test cycle control sheets. Component tested functional areas mentioned using test documentation that was developed. As part of the team, I was responsible for:- Updating of FRS (Functional Requirements Specification)- Amendments made to the Creditor Recon after the deployment phase.- Developed business reports in Microsoft Reporting Services; and- Provide assistance in compiling report standards documentation. - Compilation of unit, system test scripts with the use Functional Requirement Specification (FRS) documents to compile the required test scripts; and- Ensuring that a quality assurance exercise is carried out with the Business Process Team (BSP) member, assigned to the specific module.- Execution of test scripts after the completion of the Quality Assurance; and- Business simulation during Dry Run 2, Compiling of training manuals, Updating the issue log tool and Post Implementation Support phase to the Business Process Team (BSP) team.
