Patty Shenkman is the Professional Development Director at Dentons US. In this role, Patty oversees all learning and development programming and initiatives for US partners and associates. Patty is a leader in the design and roll-out of regional and global development programming. Patty oversees the Firm’s annual associate review process. She also oversees the annual partner and counsel promotion process for Dentons US. Patty is passionate about mentoring and sponsorship. She designs bespoke programs that help associates grow and thrive. Patty oversees the Firm’s Practice Advisor and associate mentor programs. She is the architect of the US Emerge Sponsorship Program that launched in 2014. Patty also designed and launched an Executive Mentoring Program that pairs members of the Board with Black and LGBTQ+ associates/professionals at all levels.Patty frequently designs and delivers interactive development programs for associates, partners and Firm leaders.Patty graduated from Vanderbilt University where she earned her degree in Human and Organizational Development with a specialty in Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness. Patty is certified to administer and interpret the Hogan Personality Inventory.

Prior to joining Dentons, Patty was the Manager of Legal Learning, US at Hogan Lovells in Washington, DC. While at Hogan Lovells, she designed and managed global and national training and development programs. Patty played a lead role in developing the curricula for litigation and transactional associates. She worked with Practice Group Leaders to design and implement learning paths for associates based on their practice-group and class year. She revamped and managed the firm's mentoring program. She also designed and launched an award winning Development Circle program for first-year associates.
