Price Wetherill is a freelance Director of Photography (DP) and camera operator with nearly 25 years of experience in the television industry that spans more than 20 countries. Price specializes in action sports documentaries, and live major league sporting event telecasts. He has represented a prestigious list of sports marketing and production companies by creating cutting edge visual content for primetime television networks.Throughout his career, Price has demonstrated talent and efficiency above and beyond his work behind the camera. He is a versatile professional, anticipating shots and planning composition under high intensity conditions. Whether managing a multiple venue event with a significant production crew or running a one-man Electronic News Gathering (ENG) shoot, he utilizes his creative talent, logistical engineering and leadership skills to continually assure quality and exceed expectations.Price brought his diligent work ethic and professional expertise to Vancouver where he was hired by the Olympic Broadcast Services as Lead Start Camera on Cyprus Mountain for the 2010 Winter Olympics. His work there earned him a spot with NBC Sports for Olympic telecasts, and more recently the 2012 London Olympic Games where he worked on an elite ENG crew. The material aired on the Today Show and all Olympic NBC platforms. He will join the NBC Sports crew for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.Price has traveled around the world documenting hundreds of athletes. His humorous and effective approach to intense situations has made him a natural fit with touring athletes and a positive force in production crews, no matter where the location.Price covered the FIVB (Federation of International Volleyball) tour from the beaches of Brazil, Thailand and Mexico to the Swiss Alps of Gstaad. He has also worked on many pro skateboarding and freestyle motocross circuits in Russia, China, Japan and throughout Europe.
