As an HIV/AIDS Peer Educator,I play a vital role in educating and supporting individuals, particularly those most vulnerable to HIV infection, on HIV prevention, transmission, and management. My responsibilities include: 1.⁠ ⁠Education and Outreach: - Provide accurate, culturally sensitive information on HIV/AIDS, transmission, prevention, and treatment. - Conduct workshops, group sessions, and one-on-one counseling. - Distribute educational materials and resources.2.⁠ ⁠Peer Support3.⁠ ⁠Community Engagement: - Build relationships with community leaders, organizations, and healthcare providers. - Participate in health fairs, events, and advocacy campaigns.4.⁠ ⁠Risk Reduction and Harm Reduction: - Educate on safer sex practices, condom use, and substance abuse prevention. - Distribute harm reduction material5.⁠ ⁠Referral and Linkage: - Connect individuals to HIV testing, counseling, and medical services6.⁠ ⁠Advocacy: - Promote HIV/AIDS awareness, reduce stigma, and advocate for policy changes.

1.⁠ ⁠Leadership and Guidance: - Provide guidance and support to residents. - Foster a sense of community and inclusivity. - Encourage respect and understanding among residents.2.⁠ ⁠Community Building: - Organize social events, activities, and programs. - Promote campus resources and services. - Develop floor/hall traditions and identity.5.⁠ ⁠Communication and Feedback: - Communicate hall policies, events, and updates. - Gather feedback from residents. - Report concerns to hall staff.6. Member of the Board of Residences -Member of the Hall Commitee

Job included: meeting on a weekly basis with students to clarify and review concepts taught in lectures. The content of tutoring was also based on or determined by the student’s needs.

The role of the job included:To assist vacation warden in running of the residence during university vacation. Role also included care responsibilities such as proactive involvement in assisting National Art’s festival guests with check in and checkout. Followed by liaison responsibilities, communication with the vacation sub warden in the case of an emergency, accidents or damaged property. Protection of the assets of the university by conducting an inspection of the residence after the festival to ensure the property of the university wasn’t willfully or negligently damaged by guests.
