The offshore wind potential in the Baltic Sea area is greatly untapped and thus a development called the Baltic Offshore Grid Initiative has been proposed. The idea would be to create a dual purpose grid - with simultaneous connection capacity for wind energy and interconnecting Baltic Sea states. That would allow to create more energy from renewable resources, create better connections between states and lower the cost of the future grid. My responsibilities as the development manager are to create a cooperation between other TSO-s, to find and develop pilot projects and to create political support that would allow for the projects to receive public funding.
