My work includes a mix of writing and editing responsibilities. I anchor the India File special page. The fortnightly page features stories that cut across sectors, focusing on business trends and human interest stories. India File gives an insight on pertinent issues through on-the-ground reporting and detailed analysis. I also co-launched and co-anchor a features page on aviation called FlightPlan. FlightPlan covers a gamut of topics from the world of aviation. It has a mix of features, interviews and infographics that inform and entertain.For both the pages, I give leads and flush out ideas with reporters. I plan the production and am responsible for the final product. My focus has been to create a healthy pipeline of stories and focus on story telling. I continue to write on platforms across the newspaper. My features have appeared in the weekend edition of HBL, the edit page and India File.

I started off as a Special Correspondent in Forbes India’s Mumbai bureau. Later, I shifted to the Noida office in 2010. I was in charge of the bureaus outside Mumbai. As part of the team that launched the magazine, I was closely involved in the planning of the new product.I wrote the first cover story of the magazine that was launched in May 2009. My cover stories on Tata Steel, competition between United Spirits and Pernod Ricard and Ratan Tata’s plan for Tata Trusts were much talked about. I did in-depth stories on issues like industrialisation and environment/native rights through features on POSCO and Vedanta Resources.I have handled the magazine’s flagship issue – Forbes India Rich List - from 2011. At the time, I was the youngest member of the senior team. I learned people skills, especially when it comes to supervising work done by senior members.From late 2013, I have been heading the bureaus in Delhi and Bengaluru. I’m responsible for building story ideas, channeling work flow and creating a positive work atmosphere.I got the inaugural performance achievement award in 2011.

I worked as Correspondent, Dow Jones Newswires. I was covering equities, with special emphasis on metals and mining sectors.I quickly adjusted to the working culture of a newswire and did stories and interviews that had an impact on the stock movement of companies. The stint helped me in understanding the significance of financial markets and to see a company from a new, financial perspective.

In my second stint in a business newspaper, I worked as Senior Correspondent, The Economic Times, Mumbai. I covered metals, tourism/hospitality and agrochemicals industries. The high point was covering the Tata Steel-Corus deal. I did a series of breaking news/page one stories. They moved stocks in Indian and European financial markets. I developed skills to work in a team and collaborated with colleagues on several stories. I got the “Star Performer” of the year in 2007.

I worked as Senior Correspondent with Business Standard, Mumbai. I wrote on steel, cement and textile industries. In my first stint in a newspaper, I understood the concept of news. I quickly built understanding and sources in the sectors that were allotted to me. Within a couple of months I was breaking stories, much ahead of competition. I got my first banner headline and then consistently wrote page 1 stories.

I joined The Week, New Delhi as a trainee and was confirmed in 2005, a month before (“because of high performance”) the natural transition as per company policy. I wrote stories across areas such as business, society, politics, sports and environment.I developed my skill in long-form writing. Though the junior most, my copies were clean and rarely tinkered with.At the same time, I frequently reported for the Group's Malayalam paper, Malayala Manorama, getting a taste of hard news. A new section, Delhi Beat, was started in the magazine and I was the main contributor.
