After dealing with 3 buyers, DEP, Planning Board, Conservation and years of highs and lows, the sale of the land was completed in October 2014 providing the Church with seed money to begin updating a 250 year old building that had not been renovated in over 50 years! Everyone has opinions on what needs to be done, however, we are working through the issues and eventually we will have a purposefully and Spiritually renovated building that we at 1st UMC and future generations can be proud of and use with satisfaction of a deed well done!! Family Selection CommitteeSouth Shore Habitat For Humanity 2002 - 2004Typically there were as many as a dozen families that were qualified to be chosen to work off recommended hours on building an affordable home for their family. The Family Selection Committee met weekly and interviewed each family at least once to determine who was considered the most eligible per criteria, determination and dedication to be a part of the Habitat for Humanity available housing.
