  TEXTILES DIRECT - (formerly The Country Mail) was established in 1989 to provide a service supplying quality fabrics at discounted prices Australia wide. This mail-order service was initiated to give dressmakers and home seamstresses access to a great range of quality fabrics and haberdashery. In 2004, we introduced a range of quality basic fabrics including calico, homespun, drills - prints and plains - p/c poplin, cotton poplin plains and prints, interesting denims and other fabrics well suited to the classroom environment. We have a very good, consistent colour palette of these basic cotton and cotton blend fabrics which has enabled us to supply bulk quantities - for sewing students, craft groups and drama productions. Our basic fabric range has a lovely finish and is easy to sew with, at a very favourable price.In 2013 the name of the business was changed to TEXTILES DIRECT. This new business name is more explicit to the service we offer. We supply Textiles and Haberdashery direct to our customer through our comprehensive catalogue, and soon via a new interactive website -www.textilesdirect.net. The Haberdashery range only includes high quality products and prices are 15% below normal retail price.Textiles Direct website is currently being updated, so that all products - from basic calico to beautiful silks and quality day-wear fabrics - will be available through a shopping cart to enhance the experience of our valued customers. Freight is Free for Orders over $53, Australia-wide.We currently expect the new website to be re-launched in mid-March 2017.
