Meeting & Event Planner and Administrative Assistant, Blucora/HD Vest, Irving, Texas - 2008 - 2019Responsible for managing all meeting and event registration, on-site signage, advisor communications, and conference materials for H.D. Vest and Blucora. The events ranged in event size from 50 to 1500. I regularly worked with computer companies, complete audio/visual requirements, and interact and manage the decorating companies and hotels that are hired for meetings and events. I design and place signage on-site at each event, manage conference materials, pull registration reports and data for the Meeting and Events Manager. Processing advisor reimbursements for travel and/or hotel as well as submit invoices for payment, to Accounting, from various vendors. Examples of some of the above are listed below: Coordinate conference materials for CONNECT Conference (100+ breakout sessions). Negotiate rates with computer vendor, transportation companies and hotels when needed. Set up and manage all conference registration sites and assist advisors with their questions. Coordinated local meetings for 50 attendees per meeting (5 times/year). Management of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) process.Maintained annual sponsorship renewals for NASBA, CFP, IRS and submit training materials for CE approval.I was Executive Assistant to the Director of Training and Events. Managing the calendar, expense reports, arranging travel and creating presentations was a part of my day. I managed our involvement with the American Heart Association by creating an event to raise money for the Assocation, responding to the directors of the American Heart Association with any information that may need in regards to our involvement.
