I lead various philanthropic projects, working directly for the Founder and CEO of Invenergy. Chief responsibilities include overseeing operations for the Polsky Foundation, a private 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation, which was founded in 2002. The Foundation has generously supported various charities spanning arts & culture, education, environment, healthcare, Jewish causes, and Ukraine reconstruction efforts. -I am also Managing Director for the newly formed BRCA Research & Cure Alliance (CureBRCA). CureBRCA brings together a diverse set of stakeholders from academia, medical institutions, industry, government agencies and the patient population to provide input on the strategy to address the unattended questions inherent in BRCA related cancers. The Thoracic Surgery Foundation (TSF) was established in 1988 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization. To date, TSF has raised $22 million for cardiothoracic surgery research. The Foundation represents all of thoracic surgery in the United States and its headquarters are located in Chicago, Illinois.-Primary liaison to TSF Board of Directors, which includes surgeon volunteers from the four leading cardiothoracic surgery societies: the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS), the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association (STSA), and the Western Thoracic Surgical Association (WTSA).-Skilled fundraising director for TSF solicitation efforts including: annual appeal, board giving, planned giving, corporation and foundation giving, major gifts, donor events, auction management, e-philanthropy, and conference booth fundraising efforts.-Proactive administration director for TSF functions including: benefactor relations, grants administration and promotion, creation and distribution of Annual Report, marketing and communications management, website management, gift processing, database(s) management, finance and budgeting, board governance, and collaboration efforts.-Professional/personal goals: maintaining enthusiastic board engagement, maximizing donor dollars, implementation of cost saving initiatives to reduce extraneous expenses, mission based award management, execution of best practice measures, increasing donor loyalty through transparency and accountability, enhancement of charity brand, and successful fundraising.

The Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation (LSCRF) has raised more than $30 million dollars for breast cancer research and is partnered with Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.-Served as primary liaison to 106 LSCRF board members, 40 NMF staff members, and the general public. -Managed several large successful fundraisers per year. The 2011 Fall Benefit Luncheon Featuring Goldie Hawn took place at the Ritz-Carlton and raised over $600,000.-Managed annual LSCRF Light the Way to Find a Cure Campaign. In 2011, the campaign peaked with 141 participants whose properties illuminated pink during October to help promote National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Examples included: The John Hancock Center, Willis Tower, Trump Tower, Merchandise Mart, and Chicago and Midway International Airports.-Implemented several successful sponsorship packages for events. In 2010, the “Silver Sponsorship” package yielded $360,000 in surplus revenue.-Developed several long-term cost saving initiatives and strategies that have decreased administrative costs to an all-time low of 5% during my administration. As a result, 95% of every dollar raised was used directly for cancer research.-Managed all LSCRF communications, including two annual newsletters, event materials, website, and public relations.
