As an intern for the San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Office of Diversity and Equity, I supported and coordinated Health Equity Initiatives including: Health Ambassadors Program, Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid, and Suicide Prevention month through inputing and evaluating data, assisted with tabling attended community events to support community engagement. I had the opportunity to support the first community needs assessment conducted on the Coastside of San Mateo County in support of an RFP that was focused on bridging gaps within behavioral health services among marginalized communities. The findings led to revision of the RFP to include Social Emotional needs. •Collected 210 community responses through focus groups and 1:1 interviews•Analyzed and coded data to present to a major Stakeholder

San Francisco Bay Area

As an intern at 18 Reasons, I oversaw three six-week series that were taught in English and Spanish, which empowered parents, families, and students to prepare healthy meals on a budget. Worked alongside diverse communities in the Mission District, communicating directly with the site partners and volunteers, ensuring all the materials for the nutrition portion were provided for, including purchasing groceries for the cooking segment of the class.
