Reporting to the Chief of Operations, I work to integrate the principles of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) into The Watershed Institute's day-to-day operations. I assist with researching and implementing best practices for organizational integration of JEDI principles. I also plan and facilitate JEDI-related training for staff, create the annual JEDI report, oversee the annual staff survey, and represent The Watershed Institute in related industry working groups and on panels.Reporting to the Policy Director, I help lead the organization's community outreach, engagement and regional cooperation relating to flooding issues and the protection and enhancement of water quality. I am a member of the Watershed's Policy team, co-lead the Community Watershed Advocate Program and related programs, and coordinate the Technical Friday and Watershed Wednesday webinar series and annual Watershed Conference. I also assist with the Assunpink watershed regional approaches with a focus on mapping and technological tools for community engagement in the MS4 process.

In this role, I had three main responsibilities: (1) Administering re-grants to smaller non-profit organizations for watershed conservation projects that aim to provide water quality science & education, green infrastructure education & advocacy, stormwater advocacy, and/or climate resiliency to communities. (2) Coordinating efforts, events, adult educational programming & related communications across the state of NJ between different environmental non-profit organizations, communities, and other local groups. Organizing webinars, workshops, an annual watershed conference, community advocacy training, newsletters, and roundtable discussions on different topics such as watershed protection, conservation, environmental justice, and more. (3) advancing the organization's commitment to justice, equity, diversity, & inclusion by coordinating outreach and collaboration in overburdened communities. In my time at The Watershed Institute, I also helped write grant requests, mentored young professionals, and supervised a summer internship project on stormwater impacts to overburdened, primarily Spanish-speaking, neighborhoods.

Deployed to DR-4339-PR. Assisted the Energy Sector at the San Juan, JRO. Completed hundreds of environmental compliance reviews and several site inspections across the island.

As a FEMA Corps member for AmeriCorps NCCC, I served with the Environmental Planning and Historic Preservation (EHP) and Disaster Survivor Assistance (DSA) cadre of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Using my knowledge and experience in environmental policy and sustainability, I helped ensure communities and organizations were compliant with federal, state and local environmental and historic preservation laws so that their FEMA-funded projects were not jeopardized in the future. With the DSA cadre, I responded during the aftermath of Hurricane Michael in the Fall of 2018. Together with a team of specialists, my team and I helped thousands of residents in the Donalsonville, Georgia area get registered for individual disaster assistance and housing assistance.Through the Environmental Planning and Historic Preservation cadre (EHP), I gained skills in GIS, administration, compliance reviews, technical writing and have gained a deeper understanding of environmental/historic preservation laws like NEPA, NHPA, ESA, EO 12898 and EO 11988. Meanwhile, with DSA, I was able to refine my customer service skills and experienced on the ground, door-to-door canvasing. The program also gave me the opportunity to shadow and work with other cadres like Hazard Mitigation, Public Assistance and Individual Assistance. As part of NCCC requirements, I also gained experience in recruiting, environmental education, volunteer engagement and developing and presenting power point presentations. I wrote and designed three 25-paged project portfolios to detail my team's time and experience throughout the 10-month long program.

Worked in Amazon sortation warehouse in Avenel, NJ during 2017 Amazon Peak Season. Scanned about 200 – 300 packages per scanning shifts for shipment outbound from warehouse. Main responsibilities included participating in wrap-down shift (which included stacking packages on pallets, wrapping pallets, printing and attaching correct shipment information to pallets and pulling pallets off sortation floor to outbound area) Helped in inbound section by unloading trucks, problem solve section by intercepting damaged packages and re-wrapping for proper shipping and jiffy sortation.
