Our team is harnessing the power of ocean waves to generate electricity for unmanned submersible systems.

• Designs electric field-sensitive polymer electrolytes for use in electric double layer (EDL)-gated field-effect transistors (FETs)

• Modelled the batch leaching kinetics of rare earth elements (REEs) from ion-adsorbed clays (IACs) using an organic acid (citric acid) lixiviant for improved environmental sustainability• Used kinetic data to deduce and differentiate the diffusion mechanisms of REEs from unwanted gangue cations to improve the selectivity of REE extraction from clay-associated minerals

Environmental Chemistry• Studied the heterogeneous reaction kinetics of pesticides and ozone and the effects of relative humidity on the hygroscopicity of pesticides and their ozonolysis products via ATR-FTIR• Developed experimental procedures, prepares and analyzes samples, interprets spectroscopic data, and troubleshoots instrumentation
