Priscilla Thompson is an award-winning NBC News correspondent covering breaking news, politics, and inequity for the TODAY show, NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, NBC News Now, and MSNBC. Her reporting has won an Emmy nomination and been recognized by the National Press Foundation, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and the National Association of Black Journalists, of which Priscilla is a member. Since joining NBC News in 2019, Priscilla has covered a wide range of stories, from an exclusive interview the parents of an Alabama woman, who returned home after faking her own kidnapping to covering the life and death of George Floyd from his hometown of Houston. Priscilla covered the 2020 presidential race for NBC News as a campaign embed reporter following former South Bend, Indiana mayor Pete Buttigieg. Priscilla broke several stories on the small-town mayor’s record with respect to policing, his tax returns, and his time as a consultant. Priscilla completed a Master of Science degree, with honors, in 2016 at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. She earned a Bachelor of Journalism in her home state at the University of Texas, in 2012 and currently lives in Houston, TX.
