About Prisha Rathi
As a college sophomore majoring in biomedical engineering and minoring in computer science, I hope to create biomedical technology that is accessible to all, overcoming linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic barriers. I am currently interested in focusing on medical device research/design, utilizing my interests in computer science, UI, and systems engineering. In addition to my interest in biomedical engineering, I am very passionate about volunteering, tutoring, and the visual arts. I'm a cofounder of the student-led organization Tutoring Gone Viral, a group that aims to remedy learning inequities by providing underprivileged high school students with access to high-quality ACT prep. Additionally, I run my own private tutoring business that donates its proceeds to various local charities and am a volunteer tutor on schoolhouse.world (Khan Academy initiative), reaching students across 8 countries. Finally, my artwork has got recognized by Scholastic, Wake Tech, and the Triangle Philharmonic Association, among other honors. As a former IB Diploma student, I worked on a paper on the usability barriers surrounding biomedical devices in low-middle income countries. I also pursued my Associates in Engineering at Wake Technical Community College.I'm currently seeking an internship in the biomedical engineering field at any company/research institute.
