    Poly (N-Isopropylacrylamide) and Poly (N-Vinylcaprolactam) are two well known hydrogels due to their stimuli responsive properties. The dimensions of these hydrogels are trigged by external temperature effect. pH stimulated properties are induced by copolymerizing N-Isopropylacrylamaind/N Vinylcaprolactum with Itaconic acid and N-Vinylimidazole monomers by free radical polymerization using N,N’-Methylenebisacrylamide as cross linker. Microgel particles are stimulated by temperature and pH of the solution. These stimuli responsive dimensional change of synthesized microgel particles have been studied under Atomic Force Microscope-AFM (Bruker- Icon Dimension) in tapping mode.

    Many coordination type Zieglar-Natta catalysts have been used for the production of Poly butadiene rubber (Cis 1, 4 Polybutadiene). A Ni/Co based catalyst system has been commercialized to produce Butadiene rubber. This rubber has a significant Cis content of 96%-98% with high branching, wide molecular weight distribution (PDI>1) and low cold flow to promote easy processing. Nd-catalyzed butadiene rubber with high very high Cis connect (>98%) has better tensile, abrasion and low temperature fatigue properties but poor processabiliy and high cold flow. Physical properties of Ni/Co and Nd catalyzed butadiene rubber vulcanizate have been studied.
