Worked as a lead developer on a project to create and demonstrate a Pedagogic Director agent for a social simulator. This agent makes decisions about events in the scenario based on a student profile and skill model, dynamically altering the scenario structure to maximize learning. This 3-year project spanned a breadth of technologies.--Created social simulation environment and social scenario specification (Java, YAML)--Enabled scenario designers to create complex stories through the use of embedded scripting in the scenario spec (Java, JavaScript)--Created an instructor interface to remotely view student progress using Web Sockets and Kinetic.js (Java, HTML, JavaScript)--Created a Pedagogic Manager service and REST API allowing clients to instantiate and query agents for scenario decisions (Java, JavaEE, Soar, JSON)Also participated on a year-long project to improve accessibility of map overlay information to pilots. Created various display modification policies and an interface to manage them. Simulated all GPS and communications data entering the system. Logged performance of actual users in a simulated environment with and without the overlay policies, and ran analysis on system logs to evaluate effectiveness.Assisted in converting internal projects to Maven, including writing a Maven plugin to compile Soar Agents during the build process.Compared Java, Soar Agent, and JavaScript State Machine-based Tank AIs for performance and effectiveness in a simulation environment.Performed literature review on sketched gesture recognition.
