I have had a vast variety of experiences from retail to local government politics. The beginning of my experience in community engagement began in my involvement in different extra curricular activities around cultural diversity, inclusion, and social justice. I was able to broaden my horizons through different fields from athletics, retail, the food industry, and local politics. My current internship with the Pachner Company in Denver, CO has taught me about how local governments plan out their cities, how to get community members involved, and the whole process of development. What I have learned from local politics has given me a different angle with which to study international politics. Some of my achievements include organizing a protest in support of my home county Sri Lanka during it's economic crisis, fundraisers for the country, and tying my dance experience to bringing awareness to different social and political issues. Currently at University of San Diego I am in International Relations major, on the board of our hip hop dance group Less Than Three, and a proud member of the Kappa Delta sorority.
