Our Roots virtually connects perinatal communities of color impacted by poverty with peer support coaches. Our aim is to promote intergenerational healing, and prevent anxiety and depression during this transformative life stage. We've received funding and transformative support from California Health Care Foundation, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Twilio.org, and many others.

At Promise, I spent my time co-creating an Early Childhood Leaders of Color Collaborative (EC LOC), supporting birth equity related social ventures such as Birth Detroit and HealthConnect One, and founding Our Roots, my social venture. The EC LOC Collaborative is a space for leaders to build personal sustainability, and collective power to advocate for our needs.

I co-led the Social Entrepreneurship program at the GSB where I advised students launching mission-driven social ventures 1:1 on everything from human-centered design to fundraising. I also ran a competitive summer immersion fellowship for a cohort of students launching social ventures, designed workshop curriculum and facilitated workshops, supported social ventures in Startup Garage, and helped build a DE&I strategy that spanned our programming.

I built a series of experimental products at the intersection of racial equity and mental health including a meditation app MVP for womxn of color after 50+ user interviews, and a concept that would allow Facebook to build algorithms to better support the mental health of womxn of color which won 2nd place at HackMentalHealth SF's Reverse Hackathon. I spoke about this work, and the necessity for inclusive design for communities of color at AnxietyTech 2019.I supported startups and universities with product analytics (SQL, Python) to better understand customer behaviors and make defined product improvements. Clients included: Dataquest, Cinch Financial, and Griffith University

I worked on a product analytics team as part of Access Solutions to serve underinsured and uninsured patients. My work included the launch of a new business intelligence and data warehousing system, and building data visualizations to improve access to lifesaving drugs for underinsured patients.

I built interactive data visualizations using DASH by plotly, a Python framework for interactive web applications. The tools I used include SQL and Python.

San Francisco Bay Area

I founded Tulalens, a startup social enterprise, which equipped women in India's slums with information to make informed health decisions. We built a consumer-facing app and service to radically improve iron-deficiency anemia for these women and their families. As the founder, I wore multiple hats including product, building a team and fundraising. I developed a product vision, strategy, roadmap, and wrote specs to A/B test features as part of a consumer-facing app that increased women's daily iron intake from 30% to 70% of the recommended value. I built a board of directors, advisory board, team and volunteers to design service and consumer-facing app that reached 2,000 women living in slums of Chennai and Hyderabad, and their 6,000 family members. And, I raised funding and built networks through innovation challenges, individuals, and corporate social responsibility programs such as Palladium’s Make It Possible, and Unreasonable Labs Boston accelerator.

Cambridge, Ma

I worked on a randomized control trial on community-based strategies to prevent maternal mortality in Northern Nigeria with co-investigator Vandana Sharma. I developed research questions and an analysis framework, built multivariate regression models in STATA to determine predictors of antenatal care use, location of delivery, and skilled birth attendance, and analyzed data from an SMS audit to ensure the proper recording of maternal mortality.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

I built models on the cost of delivering key health services in places such as Kenya where I helped the government save $3 million per year on HIV Testing and Counseling programs, and managed projects around strategic and economic analysis in Guyana, Namibia, Botswana, South Africa and Zambia.

I founded a 12-module blended learning curriculum to help women and youth in Guyana build applied business skills. I worked closely with a web developer on the delivery platform and education specialists to develop the curriculum.

Georgetown, Guyana

I ran Guyana's national Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission program where I managed $1 million annually from 6 donor agencies including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and oversaw 172 clinics resulting in a mother-to-child transmission rate of less than 3%. I supervised and mentored 2 staff directly and 40 staff indirectly, and oversaw special projects such as one where I doubled the number of male partners attending antenatal care by designing an evidence-based pilot.
