ICF aims to be the preeminent supporter of art, film, literature, public affairs, and an oral history archive for and about Indian Americans, creates collaborations between noted institutions including Lincoln Center and Sotheby’s and mounts original programming around the country.As a founder, I have art directed the website and branding to date, as well as our nascent social media presence. Along with the founding team, I create strategic partnerships for content, events, and fundraising. We are exploring ways to empower the Indian American community and to support their cultural expression as well as supporting emerging voices from India. -
PrincipalOh Auntie Films, Llc 2008 - PresentI’m the creator, producer and co-director for Lovesick, an award-winning, feature-length documentary film about marriage matchmaking within India’s HIV-positive community, premiering in 2017. As part of a two-woman team, I wrote grant proposals and secured $600K in financing from partners including Sundance, Chicken and Egg and Center for Asian American Media. I created an outreach and audience engagement campaign with international partners for film screenings in global locations. Lovesick currently streams across Asia on Netflix and is broadcast globally. A few of my achievements include:• Building and maintaining trusting relationships with film subjects and local production teams to enable deep exploration of HIV and marriage over 4 years. • Being recognized with Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Indian Film Festival, Los Angeles in 2018.• Winning the Discover India Award by Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in 2018.• Participating in the Sundance Story and Edit Lab, and the Creative Producing Lab in 2012 and 2013.• Being a Toronto Documentary Forum participant in 2009.
