I'm especially focused on projects with an international or inclusive focus that make everyday issues of childhood and youth accessible to all.

I’m one of five founders of this nonprofit cultural organization dedicated to the celebration, discussion, and exhibition of the culture of Indians in America, India and the diaspora. ICF aims to be the preeminent supporter of art, film, literature, public affairs, and an oral history archive for and about Indian Americans, creates collaborations between noted institutions including Lincoln Center and Sotheby’s and mounts original programming around the country.As a founder, I have art directed the website and branding to date, as well as our nascent social media presence. Along with the founding team, I create strategic partnerships for content, events, and fundraising. We are exploring ways to empower the Indian American community and to support their cultural expression as well as supporting emerging voices from India.

I’m the creator, producer and co-director for Lovesick, an award-winning, feature-length documentary film about marriage matchmaking within India’s HIV-positive community, premiering in 2017. As part of a two-woman team, I wrote grant proposals and secured $600K in financing from partners including Sundance, Chicken and Egg and Center for Asian American Media. I created an outreach and audience engagement campaign with international partners for film screenings in global locations. Lovesick currently streams across Asia on Netflix and is broadcast globally. A few of my achievements include:• Building and maintaining trusting relationships with film subjects and local production teams to enable deep exploration of HIV and marriage over 4 years. • Being recognized with Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Indian Film Festival, Los Angeles in 2018.• Winning the Discover India Award by Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in 2018.• Participating in the Sundance Story and Edit Lab, and the Creative Producing Lab in 2012 and 2013.• Being a Toronto Documentary Forum participant in 2009.

I identified, curated and pitched new broadcast and digital content for the award-winning Children’s Media group, leading to development deals with national and international media distributors. I collaborated with creative teams to conceptualize original story content with a cultural focus. I evaluated partnership opportunities to expand reach of produced content through channels including podcasts, digital first and game content. Proud member of the team that produced the 2020 Peabody Award-winning Molly of Denali series.My successes include:• Led the podcast strategy for Children’s Media, evaluating current and future trends and identifying opportunities for original content. • Wrote a successful proposal to generate $2M in funds leading to creation of a Molly of Denali Scriptwriting Fellowship resulting in inclusion of Alaska Native writers into a national television series. • Developed a partnership with Gen-Z Media to create Molly of Denali podcast series, achieving 2M streams in the first 6 months. • Spearheaded collaborative writing rooms and brainstorming sessions to conceptualize stories for original content. • Identified new and emerging talent to create opportunities to lead to new, unheard stories being told.

I provided editing, creative production and freelance writing for national media outlets, websites, agencies and corporations including The Boston Globe Sunday Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, athenaheath, Popular Science, WebMD.com, PlanetRx.com, BreatheWell, Parkinson’s Disease Living Well, LIFE Magazine, Bluelight.com and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

I collaborated with writers, producers and field crews to create Postcards from Buster, an innovative, animated fiction/live action documentary series for PBS. I developed content and oversaw full lifecycle production of 50 episodes over 8 years in U.S., Canada, Mexico, China and India. In 2009, I received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Children’s Series.

Collaborated with art director to create children's books based on the animation and screenplays of current Curious George television series.

I developed and produced Forgotten Ellis Island, documenting early American Immigration and the public health system under a $500K grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, airing in 2008. I created a companion website to illustrate the immigration experience through Ellis Island’s public hospital, leveraging archival materials from the Library of Congress.

Managed fact checking team; developed, wrote and edited feature stories; wrote monthly food and wine columns.

Managed copywriting team; worked directly with marketers, designers and developers on Kmart's first e-commerce site.
