I have completed PhD at the University of Hyogo, Japan in the field of Microbiology. My research work is based on “Elucidation of the mechanisms of bioflocculant production by Citrobacterspecies”. Polysaccharide based bioflocculants have many material properties relevant to industrial and medical uses including waste water treatment. To substitute the traditional non biodegradable and toxic chemical flocculants, we are producing environmental friendly bioflocculant using Citrobacter spp. However commercially viable bioflocculant yet to be marketed widely. In this context, for commercialization, we employed culture optimization and genetic manipulation particularly gene deletion method. In addition we also carried out elucidation mechanism of bioflocculant production in Citrobacter species.
