Responsible for all the general ledger work from start to finish for state of Texas that’s broken into 7 different region.

• Supervised and directed another Staff Accountant. • Implemented procedures ensuring accurate and efficient month end close for new team member onboard. • Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reports for corporate headquarters; maintain detailed spreadsheets for each account to analyze expenses. • Calculate Monthly Depreciation, Maintain CIP Project schedules as well as reconcile Fixed Assets invoices to general ledger on monthly basis.• Prepare & Review P&L Analysis and B/S Accounts.• In charge of approving Vendor Invoices before they are submitted to AP in order to verify GL coding.• Work with external vendors regarding payment inquiries or misapplied payments to ease their payment cycle process.• Assist auditors during preliminary year end audits and in the periodic audits of financial areas in accordance with GAAP. • Work closely with Tax department in order to pay the sales tax on the monthly invoices from vendor.• Research discrepancy within expense accounts to identify any weaknesses and develop recommendations. • Perform budget analysis and forecasting for upper management

• Assisted Accounting manager each morning in minimizing the breaks in the system by preparing future breaks reconciliation.• Responsible for month end preparation as well as quarter end process by closing out all the necessary financial accounts. • Prepared suspense, netting, gross up, daily interest rates, and commissions file on a daily basis for senior management.
