I am an urbanist and design strategist focusing on community-centered design practice. In 2012, I co-founded 3x3, an inclusive innovation studio with offices in New York and New Delhi. For over a decade, my team and I have worked with multilateral organizations, state and city agencies, community-based organizations, and social impact firms to develop and implement tools that better serve low-income neighborhoods and marginalized populations and create transformational impact. My research interests include just green transition, inclusive economies, collaborative urban innovations, and cultural development and programming. I have worked in diverse global settings, including New Delhi, Rio de Janeiro, Haiti, Istanbul, and New York City.I hold an academic position at Pratt Institute, teaching transformative design to designers. I have also lectured at the Asian University for Women (Bangladesh), Ansal University (Gurgaon), and Columbia University (New York). My work and writing have been featured in various magazines and platforms, such as the Journal of Landscape Architecture, DesignxDesign, Studio X Rio, Revolution by Design, Reinventing Dharavi, and Architecture and Society. I have written on innovative and scalable working solutions for Delhi's urban poverty for URB.im, a Dallant Networks and the Ford Foundation project, and coordinated a series of talks at Tambutalks, an initiative to seed discussions on informality and build public momentum towards the creation of socially inclusive and innovative cities.I am a Co-chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) NY. I am a member of the Urban Design Forum and was invited to be part of the community engagement working group for the 21 Visions for 2021 initiative, a bold environmental agenda for New York City's next leadership. I helped put together the vision on the topic of community engagement, which has been shared with each of the leading candidates for Mayor and will soon be raised with City Council nominees. I have provided expertise and guidance to city-level studies conducted by the Delhi Urban Arts Commission (DUAC), a statutory body set up under the Parliament Act in 1973. The study focused on decentralized sanitation solutions and was published as City Level Studies on DUAC's website for academic purposes and adoption and utilization by any government authority and local body in India.
