I am a dedicated and determined undergraduate with a major in biochemistry who is aspiring to become a pharmacist. As I began to learn about how our biological systems interact with different chemicals, I became interested in understanding how medications work within our systems to help our bodies heal and how at the same time they can cause side effects. I want to use my background in biochemistry to become a knowledgeable pharmacist who can support our healthcare teams and provide the best care for patients. I have built interpersonal skills by working and volunteering in various team settings within the service industry, student housing and nonprofit organizations. My minor in English literature has played a significant role in my personal development as literature has allowed me to make sense of the world both past and present and my role within it. I am currently trying to publish a paper about the importance of adult digital literacy acquisition in the Downtown EastSide as I believe it is key for our society to understand its importance and support the existing initiatives that were built to teach these skills to marginalized groups.
