But this company is on a mission to transform our industry, and beyond - and the Comms team’s role in that is to grow awareness of Allbirds’s thought (and action) leadership position in sustainability.Worth giving up the ampersand, I’m sure you’ll agree. It is up to my team to set and lead the Comms strategy globally, and communicating that to regional partners (in Europe, Japan, China, Korea) to execute, while directly managing the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. We also oversee Internal Comms, Exec Comms, Financial Comms, Sustainable Comms, and Corporate Comms.

It is my job to create and manage big brand moments globally – storytelling around key issues and topics – which deliver major brand awareness and cut-through.For example, when we went public, we realised that many people aren't entirely clear what an 'IPO' is, let alone a sustainable IPO. So we took the logical next step. And got former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker in a bathtub to explain. Obviously.Or when we launched our most serious running shoe we turned to a natural fit for the product. Lindsay Lohan. Hey, it was a great excuse to create content peppered with Mean Girls and Parent Trap references, and kick-start the Lohanaissance.Still got an ampersand, crucially.

Basically, I was a professional attention seeker - getting Paddy Power in the news, be that through our Save Our Shirt campaign (you remember the fake Huddersfield shirt, right?), our award-winning Rainbow Russians activation during the 2018 World Cup, or just our killer ambassadors setting the news agenda week-on-week.I'm sure I'm supposed to waffle on about direct reports, budget management, and some CV cliches, but I'll guess you know all that stuff, and/or are as uninterested in reading it as I am in typing it.

My now-wife fell pregnant. Brilliant! The Sun was asking me to do less fun stuff. Not so brilliant. So I decided to quit my dream job, and change industry entirely, to join the 'dark side' of PR - joining Paddy Power.Don't you dare call it a mid-life crisis - I was WAY too young for that. Quarter-life crisis, I will accept.

I started at The Sun when I was 21, literally by winning a competition. My mum has claimed credit for my career ever since. Not sure it's a rich source for her, mind - my sister's far more mercurial.Anyway, having won the inaugural 'Column Idol', I spent six hilarious, madcap years there. I did some cool things - interviewing sporting greats such as Usain Bolt, Jonny Wilkinson and Anthony Joshua (you may have seen the video). I also did some less cool things - umpteen body waxes, living in a Tesco, and drinking energy drinks until I puked. And I loved them all equally.EDIT: I’m so useless. I totally forgot that I was Highly Commended in Young Journalist of the Year at the British Press Awards 2013. Seriously. I was as surprised as anyone else.

God, I love the fact that I have 'Shoot!' on my CV. It was a real thrill getting the job because: A) I'd read it religiously in my youth, and B) I was out-staying my welcome in my mum's spare room.My best commission saw me become inexplicably involved in Yaya Toure's first UK interview upon signing for Manchester City - stood alongside two actual journalists in an empty Etihad (insert your own punchlines).It wasn't all glamour, though. Not least because I rented a room in a house with a couple, their newborn baby, and two other random men, while all my friends and family were a four-hour drive away. Oh, and I also had to be Sindy on Facebook for work. That was weird.

While at Uni, I started my own football website. Cute, I know.It did alright, though, with most of my classmates - and students on similar courses across the country - writing for me. It peaked during the 2010 World Cup with *checks notes* more than one million unique page views. Allegedly.Either way, it kept me busy, and ultimately led me to my first job. Mission completed.

My student job through sixth-form and university. I loved the opportunity to tell stories about products, ingredients, and the communities they helped. I loved learning about Fair Trade and the political movements that The Body Shop supported. I also got to wear a sarong and flip flops one summer and just do hand massages out front, which was kinda cool, too.
