Now a CTO, I started out as a programmer where I delivered a wide range of project, from simple web-base application to geographically distributed real-time application with high uptime and responsiveness requirement. I’ve managed many projects in a high pressure environment where conflicting requirement were frequent due to the large number of client and multiple system inter-dependence. Always taking ownership of my project I go the extra mile to not only understand what the project goal is, but also how it fits in the organization in order to discover hidden opportunities to ensure the success of both my team and my peers project. At Morgan Stanley, I started out as a consultant in the foreign exchange trading group, where I made a profound impact on the sales and reporting side. I then moved to the securitized product group where I took over the non cash environment. This position had both technological challenge as well as human challenge since a lot of relationship needed to be rebuilt and confidence restored after the financial crisis. After taking a year off to play with my newborn son, I rejoined Morgan Stanley on the Wealth Management side of the business. During this time I manage multiple project to renovation or integrate many mainframe system in order to increase productivity of the Financial Advisor and traders in both the equity and fixed income space. I then had the opportunity to completely revamp the Money Movement space of the MorganStanley Bank, moving away from a 3rd party monolithic solution to a new Service Oriented Architecture leveraging micro-service. In the last year I joined the Enterprise solution side of MorganStanley where we tackle transforming the firm as a whole pushing it to adopt Agile and DevOps practice in order to speed up delivery and increase stability. This was done by gathering meta-data from a multitude of disparate system and correlating them thru time as to be able to provide trend analysis, KPI and insight into the adoption and impact of various effort put in place. While my original specialty was JAVA, I’ve evolved and learned that different requirement require different technology. This has allowed me to work on a wide range of technology from PERL, C++/# to Java as well as DB and management.
