Darren Sanefski has an extensive branding design, editorial design, data visualization, UI/UX design and marketing background. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Syracuse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts with a degree in visual communication. He received a Master of Arts at SUNY Oswego in interactive design when he graduated with honors in December of 2010.Currently, Darren is an Associate Professor at the School of Journalism and New Media at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and teaches undergraduate students graphic design, multimedia design, 3D modeling, motion graphics and information design. He has also taught at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.He was recently hired by Central Current, a non-profit local news organization based in Central New York, to brand and UI/UX design its website. He redesign the “News For You” adult reader newspaper. Then hired to design weekly editions of “News For You," He has designed many magazines from inception. Creating the brand of the magazine. Decided fonts, grid and color scheme. Designed the wordmark of the magazine. Created the overall template for the magazine from cover to cover, including the cover, table of contents, departments and feature spreads. He was the Art Director for the highly acclaimed New York Horse magazine. The Presentation Editor for Via Corsa magazine and he also designed, prototyped and launched the Central New York Sports Magazine, in Syracuse, New York. He has designed or art directed many award winning scholastic magazines as well. He worked for The Post-Standard in Syracuse, NY. Most recently he was the paper's sports design editor and created interactive data visualizations for their website, Syracuse.com. He runs a freelance marketing and graphic design business, Sanefski Media, where Darren designs for local and national companies on a variety of projects. His current and past clients include, Boeing, Pacificare, Syracuse University, LeMoyne College, the Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce and Perimetek Pest Management. Darren has won numerous regional, national and international awards for his designs, date visualizations and illustrations. Lastly, Darren is often hired to consult and/or present at various design seminars and workshops.
