In this role, I am guiding various research projects and related activities of 550+ faculty members from various faculties of Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering & Technology, Management, Social Science & Humanities, Design and Architecture etc. Primarily responsible for:a. Building Research Capacity – Staff and Infrastructure: Creating world-class Research Infrastructure, reward & retention strategy, Trainings e.g. FDPs, Seminars / Workshops etc., Establish and promote collaborative and interdisciplinary research clusters, Collaborations (National / International), Strengthening student's research projects etc.b. Build reputation for quality research - Impact and quality: External project funding (Govt. / Industrial), Develop consultancy projects, Testing Services, Patents and Innovation, Publications in high impact journals, Provide Research Leadership, University Image Building / Branding / Accreditations / Rankings /Recognitions / Awards etc.c. Establishment and Institutionalization of Centre of Excellences: To design and promote short term certificate, Diploma, Regular UG and PG as well Ph.D. programs, To identify & strengthen areas of research , Engaging & Collaborating with industries, academia and research institutes, Developing best practices & solutions for the research infrastructure, finalization of specifications, test parameters and other regulatory norms etci.
