Currently Prof Modh is Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean at Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai. He has held many leadership positions, namely Vivekanand Education Society's Institute of Management, Mumbai (Professor and Director), NMIMS University, Mumbai (Professor and Associate Dean), Aeronautical Society of India, Mumbai Branch (Hon. Secretary and Chairman), Air India Aircraft Engineers Association (General Secretary), Air India (Dy. General Manager and a member of Business Transformation Group), RSS (Kokan Prant Sanghchalak).He started his career with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt of India (Indian Engineering Services), but quickly left to join Air India as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Prof Modh has more than 25 years of experience in the Indian aviation Industry and more than 13 years as a Professor in the Indian university system. During his tenure at VESIM, the institute received NAAC and NBA accreditation and was ranked among India's top 100 business schools in the NIRF ranking. He is also an NBA expert and NBA evaluator for the accreditation of business schools in the country.In 2001, Professor Modh visited Gujarat after the earthquake. He met many disaster-affected persons and NGOs during his visit. He went on to publish many books on the subject, namely ‘A Citizen’s Guide to Disaster Management’, ‘Introduction to Disaster Management’, ‘Managing Natural Disasters’ and 'Managing Technological and Environmental Disasters'.Prof Modh has also written a book titled ‘Discover the Arjuna in You’, analyzing Arjuna's conversation with Shri Krishna in the Gita. He has also developed a psychometric test based on the Triguna concept to help you understand your personality and leadership styles (https://satishmodh.com/).Based on his research on 'Indian Knowledge System' he has written a book on business ethics titled ‘Ethical Management’. He has contributed various chapters in the 'Palgrave Handbook of Servant Leadership', the 'Palgrave Handbook of Workplace Well-Being', and 'New Horizons in Workplace Well-Being' published by Palgrave Macmillan, Cham. He was invited to speak on these subjects at various universities in the USA including the University of Southern California, the University of North Carolina, San Diego State University, Ohio State University, Michigan State University, and several others.Prof Modh was given the 'Outstanding Reviewer Award' at the Academy of Management Conference, Boston 2019 (MSR Interest Group). He was also awarded the 'Dewang Mehta Award for Outstanding Contribution to Education' in 2014.
