Over the years I held various leadership positions at the higher education institutions I worked at. While ascending through the ranks in academia, I gained considerable experience in senior management, academic strategic planning and execution, research development, curriculum design and programme reviews as evident in my track record and the advancement of the institutions’ output and impact. I am highly committed to the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and community engagement.I am a committed member of the local and international research community as journal and book editor, involved in numerous editorial boards of academic journals, scholarly/research networks and supervision at postgraduate level. As a servant to higher education and the broader society, I have a thorough understanding of organisational dynamics which is driven by my personal philosophy that people are the objects of change and that change must serve people. Throughout my career I gained in-depth insight into the trends in change, globalisation, innovation and technology. I held several talks throughout South Africa in the past, addressing alumni, local communities and businesses on the purpose of education.I believe in the development and empowerment of people through education, embracing innovation and technology. Providing strategic brand leadership consulting, with more than 25 years’ experience in different sectors and industries, I help organisations to make better sense of their context so that they can develop more resilient strategies. I am committed to building and helping leaders to enable their organisations to adapt and learn better. With a vision to change the way business think, act and operate, I work with leaders and organisations in nearly every industry to help transform company culture to positively influence the world of work. In recent years I have found great inspiration in complexity thinking, evolutionary economics and innovation systems and where possible I apply these concepts directly in my daily work in support of leaders, leadership teams and innovators.
