I am a Professor of Pharmaceutics and Nanomedicine at Anglia Ruskin University, and a Chief Scientist and Co-founder of GMPriority Pharma, a start-up company that develops cutting-edge liposomal technologies for commercial, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical applications. With over 25 years of experience in the higher education and pharmaceutical industries, I have a strong background in conjugation chemistry, drug delivery systems, pharmaceutics, GLP, GMP, and pharmaceutical research and education.My mission is to leverage my expertise in molecular biology, in vitro, and life sciences to design, synthesize, and evaluate novel nanocarriers for the delivery of therapeutic agents across biological barriers. PhdUniversity Of Manchester 2003 - 2006Innovated and designed PhD project aimed at using dendrimer nanotechnology to inhance the bioavailability of drugs by synthesising prodrugs consisting of drug, linker, and PAMAM dendrimers. Research involved formulation of surface modified dendrimers as drug carriers. Resulting prodrugs were tested for stability in simulated gastrointestinal fluids, human plasma and in liver homogenates along with toxicity and transport studies using colon carcinoma cells (Caco-2).
