I have dedicated my career to research and develop better ways to understand and manage the way we age, get ill and recover. As a doctor and lecturer I am dedicated to Evidence Based Medicine and Safe Clinical Practice. My qualifications as a Medical Doctor and Medical Science Researcher culminated in the establishment of The Nuacell Institute for Regenerative and Functional Medicine where I head a team of professionals committed to make a difference. The Institute of Regenerative and Functional Medicine is a bespoke Treatment and Research Centre of Excellence for the treatment of Neurodegenerative Diseases and Pathologies related to ageing, drug and alcohol abuse. The Institute provides essential professional services relating to the treatment, rehabilitation, management and research of ageing diseases and especially Neurodegenerative Diseases. My special interest is in the field of Medical Informatics - the intersection of healthcare and technology. It is where skills in both medical and computer sciences come together in an effort to improve healthcare and patient outcomes. I have been actively involved in the research, design, architecture, development and implementation of technology to optimise the doctor / patient interphase. I salute the people on the edge of the Kalahari Desert where I worked in rural practice, for their inspiration to investigate or develop the use of technology to improve health outcomes.
