In 2012 I was appointed by Monash Sustainability Institute as a Professorial Fellow, in recognition of previous work in sustainability and capacity to contribute to future sustainability programs conducted at Monash.

Earthwatch Institute was founded in 1971 in Boston, Massachusetts. A need to invent a new funding model for scientific research became apparent, as dwindling government funding was combined with an increased urgency in the need for scientific information and action.Earthwatch started with just 4 hand-picked scientists from the Smithsonian Institute, and 39 volunteers working on these 4 teams. By 2016, over 3,500 volunteers worked on Earthwatch projects, in 140 projects conducted in 50 countries around the world.

Solutions.com Pty Ltd was a specialist environmental consulting company based in Melbourne. The company developed expertise in environmental planning, strategy and implementation of sustainable practices, greenhouse emissions reduction and improved energy efficiency.

The role of Group Manager, Sustainability involved setting strategic goals to position Linfox as a leader in sustainable business practices. The main strategy was to focus on reduction in greenhouse gases with an objective of a 50% reduction, based on 2006/07 levels. This goal was achieved in 2016.

The role of General Manager -Learning and Development was responsible for global operational training and the National Transport Institute of Australia, a wholly owned Linfox commercial training organisation.

When appointed to this position the facility was referred to as the Anglesea Complex and had no clear market focus. Following the development of a 10 year strategic plan the facility was rebranded as the Australian Automotive Research Centre. A range of research tenants were secured on long term tenancies and incidental training activities were curtailed, focussing solely on high quality research and development facilities capable of satisfying international vehicle certification standards. This strategy was highly successful and the AARC is now one of Australia's leading automotive research and development facilities with extensive local and international partnerships.

Project management at the Fox Classic car museum involved securing of building tenancy, negotiating planning issues with Melbourne Docklands Authority and securing commercial sponsorships.

The CEO was responsible for the strategic direction and operational oversight of the Institute within statutory guidelines and college council policies.
