Currently, I am a Professor of Nursing at Florida State College, Jacksonville in the BSN program. I also serve as the International Education Faculty Coordinator for the Center for International Education. In this position, I have overseen the virtual exchange program at the college for the past few years. During this time, we have received the Increase and Diversify Education Abroad for U.S. Students (IDEAS) to build our capacity for creating virtual exchange activities for BSN students. This program has been very successful and we now offer virtual exchanges to other programs. To assist faculty with best practices for creating virtual exchanges, I have written multiple professional development programs. Here at FSCJ, we believe a professional nurse needs robust education to prepare professional nurses to meet the demands of a multicultural society. In addition, I am the active coordinator in the BSN course of study for the Global Scholars Distinction program. This allows our students to complete their professional nursing studies with a global lens. Prior to the pandemic, I have taught internationally in Zhengzhou in 2016 and Tanglio China in 2018. In Tanglio, my students were a group of 91 amazing humans. This experience was invaluable culturally, professionally and personally. I have worked as a Nursing Professor for the past 10 years. In addition to my work as a clinical nurse, I have worked as a State Surveyor, Patient Administrative Liaison at a large acute care hospital, Quality Management and Case Management professional. My varied interests include different forms of pedagogy, instructional design, international travel and education.
