I aim to be a ‘balanced’ and effective academic, contributing across research, teaching, service, and public roles. I place a strong emphasis on supporting and mentoring students and staff, community engagement, industry partnerships, and I foster inclusivity and equity.The research I lead, through the Applied Ecology and Conservation Research group, on the roles of predators in ecological systems and ecosystem restoration; pest and wildlife management; fire ecology; and species conservation and environmental policy, is making vital contributions amidst the Anthropocene and Earth’s sixth mass extinction event. I am President of the Australian Mammal Society, a Councillor within the Biodiversity Council, and a passionate and prolific science communicator.
