With over 15 years of experience in a wide range of industries such as hospitality, education and public policy, I am a dedicated and passionate educator with a wealth of experience. Currently, I am the Professor for Hotel and Tourism Management at Hochschule Fresenius University, where I teach and mentor students in both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses in Tourism, Hotel & Event Management. My academic journey includes a PhD in Heritage Tourism & Communication, which has equipped me with a deep understanding of the industry and its nuances.In addition to my academic role, I am actively involved in the political arena as a policy consultant and candidate for the 2024 EU Parliament with Volt Deutschland. My goal is to leverage my extensive experience and insights to drive positive change, innovation and growth within the European Union. I am particularly passionate about advocating for the positive impacts of labor migration and frequently speak on this topic.My professional background is diverse, having held significant roles such as the owner of the heritage Mitaroy Goa Hotel and the European Travel Editor at Mitaroy Media. These experiences have provided me with a well-rounded skillset that I bring to every role I undertake. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy exploring new advancements in educational technology and staying up-to-date with the latest trends in AI and machine learning. I am also an avid traveler, always seeking to discover the world around me.From a very young age (I must have been 2 or 3 years old), my parents used to take me on a number of holidays across India. My father, arguably one of India’s first travel journalists, had the wonderful opportunity to stay at many hotels as part of his work. Since my mother too loved to travel, my earliest recollections as a small boy getting into our small car and driving away to some new, exciting place. It was then that I promised myself that I would open my own my own hotel someday. When I finished high school, I was determined to study hotel management and pursue my childhood dream. 5 years later, I graduated from the renowned Salzburg Tourism School with excellent grades. When my parents had purchased an old house in Goa. I decided that I would take up the job of restoring the old house and convert it into a hotel. And thus 15 years later, I managed to open my first hotel (the Mitaroy Goa Hotel www.mitaroygoahotel.com), making my boyhood dream a reality.
