ACADEMIC: At MIT, Professor John J. Donovan served as a tenured professor of electrical engineering, and a professor of management at the Sloan School. At Tufts Medical School, he served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics; at Yale University, a fellow and lecturer; and at Harvard University, a visiting scholar. He has also been a lecturer at Oxford, Cambridge, Sorbonne- Paris, a Professor at Texas Tech. He has taught 5,500 students and supervised 54 theses.RESEARCH: At MIT, his research focused on entrepreneurship, technology and business. At Tufts, he first focused on the causes of birth defects and founded the Birth Defects Center at Tufts New England Medical Center. John has, to date, authored 20 books, translated into 14 languages, 239 publications, and 17 patents.BUSINESS: John J. Donovan has founded 26 companies, . This includes 22,000 employees, with a presence in 19 countries. In addition, his employees have formed 118 companies He has led over 200 global corporate workshops including; DOD, Navy, GM, and United Health. All resulted in strategic application that improved their business effectiveness. He has led over 600 executive courses sponsored by AT&T, Oracle, HP, CITI Group, SAP, NCR, IBM, Informix, Samsung, KPMG, DEC and Sun where he taught 32,000 executives in 75 countries.GOVERNMENT: He received 12 commendations for his work for the DOD, the U.S. Senate and Presidents Reagan and Bush W. and Bush W.H.PUBLIC SERVICE: John J. Donovan received commendations from the Red Cross for research on birth defects, blood safety and work with children. He has created recreational parks in MA, established scholarships at Yale University for the children of city workers, and developed the “Donovan Scholars” fellowships at Boston University.
