CurrentTE Connectivity (formerly Tyco Electronics) is a $14bn global company that designs and manufactures products that connect power, signals and data inside the devices all around us. In recent years TE had restructured its business from a local and regional, product-based organisation to a global, market-focussed organisation. This reorganisation took several years and presented many challenges. As in any large scale re-organisation, some segments fared well and others faced some difficulties. I was hired as part of a turnaround team to re-establish the Rail and Mass Transportation business and accelerate sustainable growth.• Halted staff turnover and organised the engineering staff into focussed and effective teams • Stabilised the design, manufacture and maintenance of the flagship product and re-launched it to the market( resulting in the company winning a new $4m order)• Created a targeted recruitment campaign, training and development program to rebuild the necessary expertise and specialist skills: Hired 7 specialist engineers in 12months • Re-introduced phase gate project control system and increased New Product Introduction effectiveness 200%• Started a number of technology partnerships with industry leading customers and specialist technology partners to accelerate New Product Development
