The key achievements in this role were:Established and managed a system to track, analyse and report tailings facility operational KPI's at ensuring each B&A site met operational targets complied to standards.Developed Life of Operation plans for each bauxite residue and tailings storage facility to ensure lowest cost of operation.

This role provided Management and Professional Engineering advice with regard to: Review and validation of technologies to be applied to Alumina Refinery design for Rio Tinto new projects, existing operations and third party technology sales.Risk management application to operating sites within the Pacific and Atlantic Bauxite and Alumina group.The key achievements of this role were:Development and implementation of a "technology validation" process for alumina refinery design.Application of the "technology validation" process to two new refinery designs.Commissioning risk assessments for all refinery process areas for the Yarwun 2 refinery start-up.

This role managed a team of engineers and operations experts who had the responsibility to ensure each process area of the refinery expansion met design, operational environmental and safety requirements through the feasibility study, detailed design, project delivery, commissioning and handover stages. This role also managed the interface between the Project Director and the Gove site Manager.Key achievements in this role were:Delivered a refinery expansion scope (Process descriptions, PFD's, P&ID's and 3D design) with a high degree of ownership from the site operations group.Sucessfully managed high level project interfaces.
