Edwin Rodriguez is currently Director of Operation for St. Vincent DePaul Mission of Waterbury, Inc. and provides operational management for a network of services that includes an Emergency Homeless Shelter, Thrift Store, Soup Kitchen, Culinary Job Training Program, Food Pantry, Affordable Housing Units, Mental Health Supervised Apartments, Licensed Mental Health Residential Living Center, Rapid Re-Housing Program, and Permanent Supportive Housing Program for Homeless and Disabled Individuals and Families. Prior to this position, Edwin was the Director of Development and Public Relations at St. Vincent DePaul Mission.Edwin is former Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. While Commissioner, he was instrumental in introducing legislation and regulations that enhanced the well-being of the Connecticut economy and its citizenry. In this role, he also served as Chairman of the Liquor Control Commission and Connecticut Boxing Commissioner. He worked for the Connecticut Community Foundation, where he helped launch Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills, a popular annual on-line fundraising campaign benefiting area nonprofit organizations. He also worked as a Project Management Consultant in the initial start-up of Loyola Development Corporation, a Community Housing Development organization. His professional experience also includes working in receivable management for the Travelers Insurance Company.His community involvement earned him many civic recognition awards. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors for Mutual Security Credit Union, Wolcott Board of Ethics and as Finance Council trustee at All Saints–Todos Los Santos Parish in Waterbury. He is also a Justice of Peace. Formerly, he served on the Board of Directors for the St. Vincent DePaul Mission of Waterbury, Inc. He also served on the Wolcott Economic Development Commission, as a Trustee and Treasurer for the Connecticut Community Foundation, as a member of the Board of Directors for the United Way of Greater Waterbury, and as President and Trustee of the Connecticut Federation of Catholic School Parents. He was as an Alderman for the City of Waterbury and Liaison to many city boards and commissions. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Executive Management from the University of New Haven, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Associate degree in Accounting from Post University. He also holds a Certificate in Government Leadership from the University of Connecticut, Institute of Public Service.
