Currently, he manages CPH, leading a multidisciplinary team of academics and specialists in subject areas such as substance use, violence prevention, sexual health, environmental health, the development of public health intelligence and surveillance systems and public health education. Prior to his research career he worked as a Registered General Nurse providing healthcare and promoting harm reduction and HIV prevention with injecting drug users.He joined Liverpool John Moores University in 1998 and has built an international reputation in the field of drug use He has co-authored more than 100 research reports, 30 journal papers, presented at over 50 national and international conferences and been invited to contribute to a number of national and international groups and collaborationsJim's own research encompasses a range of drug related issues, however, his main interest remains the use of 'human enhancement drugs' in the general population, in particular the use of anabolic steroids and associated drugs.
