I am a postdoctoral researcher at the mechanical engineering department of KU Leuven. My main research interests are located in the developement and validation of state-of-the-art techniques for spatial uncertainty quantification in numerical simulation models.

My PhD research project was aimed at the development of novel techniques for the identification and quantification of spatial non-determinism in the context of numerical models. Specifically, within-part variation is modelled using advanced non-probabilistic techniques such as interval fields, and the constituting uncertainty is identified and quantified by a well-defined comparison with measurement data. As a validation, the developed technique is, among other case studies, applied for the identification and quantification of uncertainty in material properties of Additive Manufactured parts. Also, validatin cases aimed at the identification and quantification stiffness uncertainty stemming from the assembly process are presented in my dissertation.
