The next step of my IT road is automation QA engineer. I replaced engineer that initially was developing automation scripts on a web-app project and continued his work. At first my main goal was to support existing scripts, but later I began developing new ones as requested by customer. At the moment I have experience in working on several web projects and a desktop app project.► Main tasks: Test scripts development, support, test runs, analyzing test results, submitting defects, setting up and supporting test environment (virtual machines, ci server configuring), analizing tests coverage, their effectiveness, communication with customer / dev / qa teams, working in the large automation team (5+).► Test applications:desktop Windows WPF/ .Net applications, web portals (large web-apps with complex business logic), web-services, payment systems (WebMoney, Yandex.Money etc.).► Main objects under test:desktop app with its elements (buttons, canvases, menus), browser page and its elements (links, texts, images, popups, files, JavaScript), mail servers (send/get emails), REST/SOAP web-services, XML data (parsing, analyzing and building), Oracle/MySQL databases (running queries and db scripts, searching and analyzing data).►Technologies used:for a desktop app: JScript + TestComplete + framework; for a web-app: Java + WebDriver + automation framework; instruments: Eclipse/Idea, SQL Developer, Jenkins/Bamboo, TestNG, JUnit, JavaScript, Maven/ Ant, Git/SVN/TFS, batch, SoapUI, Fiddler, XML/HTML/CSS

My IT career started from functional tester. In the first 6 months I became a team-lead on the rapid growing project. In the next 6 months our QA team has grown from 2 to 10 specialists. However, I felt more comfortable not at managing, but at technical tasks and began self-education of the technical skills: Java and SQL. Soon I've written my first Java application which was used to register a user with specified parameters on the test enviromnent of our project. Later on I was involved in supporting automated tests on the same project. There I've spent around a year in combining functions of a manual and automation tester. Here's the list of my main tasks during this period:► Specifications/ requirements analysis, writing test documentation, conducting various types of tests (functional, integration, cross-browser, requirements), submitting defects, writing test reports, communication with project teams.► Working with Oracle database: constructing DDL/DML queries and scripts, working with SQL functions (dateTime, cast/convert)► Integration testing based on XML data: XML files validation according to the corresponding XSD schemas, export/import XML files, comparing XML data with data in the DB► Web-services testing: SOAP/REST► Customer support: I've been working on the second line of customer support. I was responsible for handling issues from customers, trying to reproduce their problems and submit defects if needed or provide possible solutions/workarounds.
