The data I work with is used to support research and advocacy on issues such as youth involvement in the criminal legal system, the criminalization of pregnant individuals with substance use disorders, and the evaluation of Oklahoma’s parole process. I’m dedicated to making data-based work more human-centered and keen to learn about evolving ethical standards in data use. My goal is to minimize re-traumatizing marginalized communities that have historically been stripped of data privacy and autonomy. While in graduate school I TA-ed at the university and worked part-time for the Chicago chapter of a nationwide organization called LiveFree conducting research that was used to advocate for police accountability policies and address Chicago’s unsolved homicide problem.I hold a Master of Public Policy with a focus on data analysis and computational social science from the University of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Economics from Gettysburg College. I studied classical ballet for 14 years which has instilled in me a dedication to process and continuous improvement (and falling down a lot).
