Developed 1st generation sensor shift electro-mechanical flexure in support of 2020 iPhone.Within this role, optimized roll to roll manufacturing of coating, lithography and lamination and singulation of components at mass production volumes. Optimized novel eNIG processes required to enable final performance. Developed panel level and component level AVI/AOI for MP release.Continue to support multiple generations of sensor shift.

Developed plating processes for System in Package on first generation Apple Watch.Engineered and developed Plating EQ in collaboration with a supplier to support 2 MP factories. Equipment fully customized for thick Cu and SUS plating.Optimized processes for first generation touch and Force Touch sensors for iPhone 10 MP release.

Developed prototype and production equipment for roll to roll spray nano particle system.- Program Management: Led the design and build effort with an outside equipment supplier. Responsible for managing the schedule, budget, and deliverable through Factory Acceptance.- Design engineering: In addition to managing the team, designed and built vacuum collection system, spray deposition system, 2 metrology platforms, and a complete prototype roll platform.- Facilities management and design: DI system selection and installation (management), vacuum water separator system installation (design and management), electrical distribution for the tool and ancillary equipment (design and management).- Operations: Implemented PDM system for Solidworks. Instituted collaborative development by using Basecamp to the entire company. Developed the machine change control process for new equipment.

Equipment development: - Metrology: In-line process monitoring metrology for CIGS and sputter deposition processes. Managed architecture and development process for multiple projects from concept to production. - Large area PVD sputter machines: Rotary sputter machine development. Worked with existing architecture and managed the development of rotary magnetrons and vacuum translation systems. - Automation: Concepted and developed numerous automation techniques and machines through to a 24/7 production environment. Examples include, transfer systems to introduce product into a vacuum tool, optimized robot handling end effectors for product and factory durables, and cleaning assemblies to maintain consistent vacuum carrier conditions.

Developed large format atmospheric plasma etching system for making nm corrections on large optics. Managed all aspects of engineering development including process and design engineering.

Developed an automated silicon PL system used for evaluating strained silicon.

Developed and built a complete fiber optic automation line that connectorized fiber modules. The system consisted of assembly, epoxy bond, cleaving, polishing, and CO2 snow clean. Company was successfully sold to Solectron.

Developed multi-station chemical mechanical polishing machines. Completed 3 generations of development and eventually sold the company to Applied Materials (AMAT).

Designed and built a ceramic air bearing stage for 300mm wafer inspection. Design also included air bearing evaluation and isolation system selection.

Designed and productized a hand held prostate ablation device. Developed fiber optic scope to be used with the hand held ablation system. All these systems were developed in house and built using EDM and NC machine tools. Familiarzed with aspects of CAD and CAM to fabricate parts.
