I have an extensive hands-on background in a manufacturing environment, specifically in the tool & die, metal fabrication and stamping industries. I have the ability to perform in a managerial and/or engineering capacity, focusing on standardization and automation with emphasis on quality and productivity, and to play a key role in continuous process improvement. My specific expertise is with CAD/CAM, CNC programming, Wire EDM, and CNC Vertical Milling. I am proficient with AutoCAD, using excellent drafting skills for design, layouts, detailing, 2D and 3D. I am also highly skilled with customizing CAM & CAD software with custom commands and macros incorporating logic and variables. I have an in depth understanding of NC code, with the ability to enter, edit, and troubleshoot code at the CNC machine control.I have worn many hats over the years, sometimes three or four in a single day. On any given day I might be found in the tool room working with a diemaker or verifying a program on the CNC mill, or I may be in the Wire EDM room testing a change to a program or servicing a machine. I might also be found in my office laying out a strip for a progressive die, revising a macro, posting a question on a user forum, researching alternate materials for a problematic die, or helping a programmer with a software issue. I may be in the stamping department running a sample strip through a die, discussing a problem with an operator; or in the sales department providing assistance with a customer CAD drawing.
